One can assume the reason why he settled into domestic living years after Bella had done so was because he was at grad school. Because he was graduated from grad school, he gets a jumpstart in the career and climbs the latter a lot faster than Mortimer does. Scientist Sims contribute an invention into the Sims world. He cloned himself, and a test subject: Skip Broke.
Even though he died before it happened, arrangements were made so Brandi could be the next test subject and the first female subject, and when you start Pleasantview for the first time, she is pregnant with her own clone. The baby is always born a boy. They are genetically identical, but wear different clothes. Mortimer follows after Michael, and invents the age reversal serum.
Bella is the first test subject, and, the day of her abduction, she takes the serum until she reverts back to being a brand-new adult. Around this time, Gunther Goth dies. Bella, Mortimer, and Cassandra move out of their home and in with Cornelia to be with her in her last stages of life. Michael marries Dina Caliente. They then move to Pleasantview. Bella goes to introduce herself to her new neighbor, Don.
They get along, and Don gets the wrong idea and puts the move on Bella. Bella rejects him. He then runs off to go be with Kaylynn and is not there when Bella is abducted by aliens. Bella is never seen again, but shortly after her abduction, a UFO crashlands in Strangetown, and reports that Bella is in Strangetown start rolling in. Mortimer and Dina hit it off rather fast, and marriage is definitely in the picture when the game first starts. Cassandra, Mortimer, and Alexander all age up on the same day 2 days after Bella disappears.
Despite the fact that they were friends when they were younger, Mortimer has no memories of Michael, and neither do Cassandra or Alexander. They never met their uncle. Their father was a result of an alien abduction pregnancy. Why would they? Now, it is possible to bring Bella back with the Tombstone of Life and Death. However, if she dies this way, you cannot resurrect her with the resurrect-o-nomitron. She has no memories besides what happened to her children after the first load of Pleasantview.
Bella will come back with memories that Cassandra had twins, and she will even know who her grandchildren are. I use this example because in my most recent Pleasantview playthrough, Cassandra had twin boys named Hendrick and Caspian with Don Lothario.
Bella will have NO relationship at all whatsoever with Mortimer. You can see before you bring her back on the Goth family tree that they are not married at that point, and Mortimer and Bella start their relationship over as acquaintances. If you let them progress their relationship naturally with no cheats, they actually fight a lot and do not get along at all. Now, any townie and NPC created before Nightlife will have their turn-on and turn-offs randomized. This is a consistent thing.
Interesting to take into consideration. Which is weird, right? I remember them having a good relationship in the Sims 1. Also worth noting, Bella is a romance aspiration sim. In the Sims 2, they tend to hoe around a lot.
There are a few other adult sims in Pleasantview who are also romance aspiration sims. Skip Broke was also a romance aspiration sim when he was alive. What is interesting is that while for the most part, romance aspiration sims like to hoe around, there is one exception to this rule so far: Nina Caliente.
If it were a thing back then, Nina would have been a soulmate romance aspiration while the others would have been serial romantic aspirations. So, in conclusion, Bella had an affair.
Mortimer found out about it, which caused them to, at the least, separate for a while. Once Alexander was born, and as he got a little older, it becomes clear that he resembles Cornelia, therefore verifying that Mortimer is indeed his father. This would have caused them to try their relationship again, and Bella would have turned down Don in good faith to Mortimer. She knew the Pleasants, and was friends with Mary-Sue.
Daniel had an affair with Kaylynn going on, so he definitely could have some action on the side with Bella, too. This one makes the most sense to me, personally. We know that the Calientes and Don are completely innocent, at least as far as her disappearance goes. She is ALSO a victim here, you guys. Give some love to Nina Caliente, she needs it. They tend to go after sims who are wealthy, high-skilled, good-looking, popular, anything like that.
Bella was ALL of those things. She was the epitome of the perfect sim to the aliens. However, their relationship is not stated, and Michael remains a separate character from her line of the family. She is an elegant, yet athletic, woman who seems to enjoy playing golf. Her activities when played will either be painting or playing the piano, which gives credibility to the theory that she may also be a very creative and talented person. She wears her trademark red dress, and has black or very dark brown hair worn at medium length.
She is unemployed at the start of the game and, just like her husband, has no skill points in anything. She is also friends with her daughter Cassandra, but does not know any other Sims in the neighborhood. Since there are no familial relationships in The Sims , she has no relation to her brother Michael Bachelor, nor do any in-game lore even indicate the two are related, although they do share a similar facial structure, hair color and skin color.
By the time the storyline has caught up to The Sims 2 , Bella has had another child, Alexander Goth , and has disappeared via alien abduction. It is then also revealed that Bella is Michael Bachelor's sister. She does exist in Pleasantview , but is hidden within the game code and can only be found using cheats or third-party programs. Bella's disappearance is a major component to the background story of Pleasantview and it's theorized that Maxis picked her for this major role because she is a mysterious, yet elegant, woman.
Her last known whereabouts are Don Lothario 's deck, and Don's photo album and memory panel show that he had attempted some romantic interactions with Bella, which she didn't accept, before she mysteriously disappeared. Many of Mortimer 's, Cassandra 's, and Alexander's memories involve Bella, meaning that she hasn't been gone for too long. On the family tree panel, Bella's face is not grey, which indicates that the game does not consider her to be dead. Although her husband and daughter have memories of her being abducted by aliens, the story does not explicitly state what happened to Bella.
Oddly enough, most of the furniture was left untouched after she left. If a Sim uses the fingerprint scanner , much of the furniture was touched by her. Maxis created a likeness of Bella and used it as a townie in Strangetown. This version is a little different than the Pleasantview Bella, but is acknowledged by Maxis as the same Bella. The fact that the Bella in Strangetown has no memories of her loved ones or past life is simply blamed on alien experiments during her abduction.
Strangetown Bella's career is randomized at the start of the game, whereas the Pleasantview Bella, if brought back, has no personality points, career and no premade memories, and she cannot be played without the use of hacks such as SimPE.
Another odd detail is that, if Bella is brought back, Mortimer's relationship with her will be that of acquaintances rather than spouses. The reason for this is because the developers did not set the correct relationship flags. Confusingly, Bella is actually very shy due to the limit of her personality points and has little interest in fashion, contrary to how the game describes her.
Players can adjust this with cheats to fix her personality. Relationship flags such as Crush, Love, and Married are normally unset when a Sim dies, and reset when that Sim is resurrected.
It may simply be that the methods needed to bring Bella back do not reset these flags, or that they were not set when Maxis created Bella and Mortimer for The Sims 2. Some players prefer to play the Bella Goth in Strangetown and consider her to be the real Bella because she has no connection to Pleasantview and is not tied to the Goth and Bachelor family trees, which lends credence to the theory that the alien experiments left her mind wiped. A further area worth looking into is the cinematic when Alexander Goth goes off to university.
If Mortimer is already deceased, the scene that the player sees before they enter the university features a regular Bella as Alexander's mother and she is sobbing about the loss of her son as he is grown up, but still remains missing afterwards.
On The Sims 2 website, there is an interview [2] that explains her disappearance, saying that she is the same person as Strangetown Bella Goth. Another odd fact is that she is seen looking through a small telescope on Don Lothario's deck, even though it is impossible to get abducted through this telescope in normal gameplay.
This might be a mistake overlooked by the creators to show good story-telling pictures for the neighborhood. She still doesn't remember her family and likes chocolate. According to Mambo Loa , Bella is not good at keeping secrets. She is looking to sell her home the Espiritu Estate which she despises a lot because it is haunted by three scary ghosts Emily Emory , Nervous Subject , and Dennis Philips, one of Hazel Dente 's previous husbands.
She sells her home for all the money that the player has. Bella first appeared in a short interview promotion for the Facebook app The Sims Social. The interview confirms her abduction from The Sims 2.
It appeared she had absolutely no memory of what had happened to her since the night of her abduction—a whole chunk of her life was missing. As friends and family told her of how she had disappeared, Bella was determined to get answers and set off in search of the UFOs—and her memories, in which she was good at it, too.
Bella uncovered and met many aliens, mastering detective skills that Foxy Boulder would have been proud of. But alas, though she had successfully interviewed many aliens, they were not the ones who had abducted her. Each visitor pointed to another, and Bella followed the leads for many months. She is the helpful tutorial sim who guides you through the process of learning how the game works. The first few quests involve her helping you to become part of the new neighborhood. You can also build a relationship with her which will enable you to interact with, call and socialize with her as you progress through the game.
At this point, she is hiding out in Strangetown, where she is running away because she was abducted by aliens.
In the game, she begins to reveal a few things about her life. It is said that she never really loved Mortimer. She married him for his money and stayed for the free cable. These secrets are not reflected in other Sims games.
The version of Bella we see in The Sims 4 is an alternate reality version of the Goth family. It consists of Mortimer, Bella, Cassandra, and Alexander. They are entirely separate from the very complex storylines of the earlier games. He earned promotion after promotion and made remarkable breakthroughs in the Scientific realm. He brought his work home with him and worked late nights often going to work the next day on not much more than a few cups of coffee.
Then it happened. Bella started texting and calling. Once Miles knew that Bella was interested he found playing hard to get to be impossible. A little star gazing and one electrifying kiss later and the wooing of Bella Goth was no longer a mystery. Oh… Mortimer? He lived a long, happy life with Bella. Miles had more than one strategy up his sleeve. It seems that some of the stuff he was working on at the lab ending up being very beneficial in ensuring that he had a long, long time to woo Bella.
