Ramped up boots with huge wedge inside. A guy can get close to in custom footwear. Sly or vin diesel or RDJ etc etc are all using this type of footwear. This is why we see the occasional picture that totally contradicts their claimed height. To go from 5ft 7 to 6ft would require footwear that pushes you up to your tip-toe height about 3 inches for a 5ft 7 guy , then you'd need another 2 inches of platform on the front of the shoe to get that 5.
Big wedge inside like his Rambo boots. He needs to be as close to 6 feet as he can get. Only Burt Reynolds wore bigger customs. What to me seems kinda strange.. In some scenes you can also see Paulies shoulder level is higher Sly without heels , Paulie has a longer body it seems, although hes slouching most of the time..
There is even a hard scene in the movie inwhich he trained football with his partners and fall to the ground and he wear this type of massive heels.
Then no difficult to imagine his football shoes in other softer scenes can have some lifts. Plus the angles of camera that can give him an advantage. I have to say I have zero problem with Sly's height or even other ,just we are here to talk and to try to guess the real height of each celebrity then I try to be logical with what I see.
Sly is maybe 5"7' range maybe more maybe a bit less,he's a very good actor to me no matter his height. Burt more distant to the camera and standing in a very relaxed posture.
If he wear flip flop in this movie I doubt the camera disadvantage him during this scene. Robert De Niro around the same period as Copland looks maybe 5"8' next to Eddie Murphy see the pic I posted recently ,and a lot before Copland looks maybe 5"8' next to Robin Williams. The shortest figure I've seen for Stallone in newspapers with a straight face is 5 foot 6. Although I'd probably guess Sly was more 5'8. And Sly was quite easily taller than Pele. Robin Williams was 5'7" peak, but actually shrunk to no taller than 5'6" before he died, but Sly is noticeably taller than De Niro these days. As for their younger years, both Stallone and De Niro had to be somewhere in the 5'8.

In some pics Sly with de Niro, Sly seems hardly taller. So this 5'9" peak i doubt very highly. Furthermore this peak height must be around the first Rocky movies, in which he is wearing these 4" - 4. Sly has never been over 5'8" at peak, i'd say 5'7. Looks short as well in Rambo I, everyone's taller than him in the police station, although he's wearing those Rambo boots Those cowboy boots are loaded with wedge. Or in his prime? Cowell must be G's press secretary. Chiny might be right. Since in Wesley Snipes section on your site it seems Sly is taller than Statham. Around same height than Snipes in that photo. Though i can see Sly is wearing some thick shoes. Still if we take them away he is still Statham height in that photo.
